Our one-day trip from Fes to Chefchaouen begins at 8:00 AM from your accommodation in Fes. We will travel north in an air-conditioned vehicle for about three hours to reach the charming town of Chefchaouen.

Along the way, enjoy stunning views of the Rif Mountains and the rolling hills of Ouezzane. We’ll stop to take in the landscape, breathe in the cool air, and capture some amazing photos.

Chefchaouen, often called Chaouen by locals, was established as a fortress in the 1400s. This hillside town is famous for its dreamy blue-washed houses, artisanal wool products, and delicious goat cheese. The town’s name refers to the mountain peaks above, which resemble the two horns (chaouen) of a goat.

Abundant water creates a network of mineral-rich caves in the surrounding mountains.

We’ll stop at a viewpoint to enjoy a panoramic view of Chefchaouen before arriving at noon. You’ll have four hours to explore the winding streets of this enchanting town. Stroll through the medina to discover Arab-Andalusian traditions and products.

Visit Plaza Uta El-Hammam, where you can see the impressive 15th-century Grand Mosque and kasbah. This mosque, notable for its octagonal tower, was built by Jewish refugees who, along with Muslims, fled Spanish persecution to find sanctuary in Chefchaouen.

Learn about the area’s history and culture at the Kasbah Museum or the Ethnographic Museum, which houses musical instruments, antique weapons, and photographs of the old town.

Don’t miss the famous Ras El-Maa Waterfall, where you can enjoy the fresh air and the soothing sounds of water amidst the green hills. A short walk will take you up to the Spanish Mosque for a beautiful view of the city.

Enjoy a delicious lunch in the square or at a rooftop restaurant while people-watching. On a hot day, you can cool off by dining in the riverbed.

In the late afternoon, we will depart for Fes, arriving back at approximately 8:00 PM.
